a little past midnight.. but you know it's okay

Thanks sandra at diary of a stay at home mom for hosting

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Plain ole Hot!!

One of my simple pleasures: getting to read some bed time stories to my precious nieces this past weekend. The most fun book to read was one of Lauren's favorites, The First Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs. She loves her some dinosaurs right now.

On my bedside table: Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Cancer Book. I have also started Nicolas Sparks, At First Sight. I have tried a few times to start New Moon, but haven't gotten to much into it yet. I know I will later, I am really looking forward to the movie.

On my TV: I was wanting to watch Bucket List tonight but didn't take the time yet.

On the menu for tonight: We drove in at dinner time back from our Ft. Worth trip so we pick up some chicken.

On my To Do List:

Laundry, dishes, Quiet Time with the Lord including more scripture memorization, sleep, take the boys to the splash pad and some fishing maybe, and LESS COMPUTER TIME, and take more time to serve my husband with joy.

New Recipe I tried this week: Buttermilk pancakes from Sandra's food blog. I was in heaven with those things!

In the craft basket: I made a little blanket for my sweet niece Lauren. She was so thankful and loved watching her cuddle with it and play with it. Notice her toes poking through the blanket. =)

I want to make as many as I can for more of my family. Something homemade is like no other. I also have been making some prints of my sunflower pictures that I took with a verse in the middle. This is one that I made for my friend Sarah. She wanted one for her family room.

Looking forward to: Gabe's interview on the 21st of July in Lubbock. This would be his second interview. First one in person. He has already had a 1 hr long phone interview. I felt the Spirit's presence so strong this past Sunday morning when I went with my brother to his home church. The Lord was continuing to remind me that he will not forsake us and for us to continue to always be faithful to Him. I received such a peace from the Spirit reminding me to pray over my spouse for the 21st of July. The number 21 keep playing over and over in my mind tell I realized that it stood for july 21st.

Homemaking Tip for this week: get off the computer and serve my precious family that God has blessed me with.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Sarah's blog about her visit with her sister and niece. She is growing so fast. Her beautiful blue eyes are memorizing. Praises for her sister ( momma of the baby). She underwent surgery on her gallbladder and liver this past week. The doctor's said if she would of waited longer it would of been alot worse.

Favorite photo from last week: I had the privilege to be with my niece Lauren on her 3rd bday weekend. These are her new pajamas from her Grandma and Grandpa. She loves this dinosaur book as I mentioned above. Here she is doing so actions and noises of the dino's.

Lesson learned the past few days: God has the right job for the Smith family and at the right time. I reminded by a sweet sister in Christ of mine that when I may get frustrated with anybody, and want to maybe say something back that isn't positive or constructive... to remember that I have the POWER OF THE CHRIST BEHIND ME. Simply put no explanation for that.

On my Prayer List: My niece turned 3 today. Praises for my mom's report that her cancer has not spread and she is able to keep her dinner down now because of some good medicine. She has also received blood transfusions and her energy is so much better! I had some needed alone time this weekend for the first time in many months and how wonderful it was and so helpful to our marriage.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13 5:6
( I read this verse on Sandra's blog and wow, I have been talking so much about and clinging to what this verse says this week, it was nice to see this verse and be thankful for the awesome truth it is!)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corth 5:17

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"- but God has revealed it to us by His spirit. 1 Corth 2:9
